Little Oaks - Nurture Class

Welcome to Little Oaks
We are a small nurture provision with children from Year 1 to Year 5. We are a fantastic group of 6 children with two teaching assistants. In the Autumn Term, we have an exciting topic called Muck, Mess and Mixtures.  We will be creating pieces of art using different media, learning how to mix colours and learning about an artist called Carl Warner - he creates pieces of art from fruit, vegetables and food items. We will be reading books called The Pencil and The Day the Crayons Quit - we will learn new vocabulary and use colourful semantics to support our writing. In Science, we will be investigating how to make bubbles and if you can make larger bubbles using different products.
This term, we will be starting our weekly cookery sessions - we will be learning about recipes, weighing equipment and using simple recipes to make a product.
Our afternoon sessions are based around Outdoor Learning - last term, we enjoyed planting seeds and learning how plants grow. We even started to grow vegetables. This term, we will be looking at how the seasons change from Summer to Autumn and the changes in the outdoor area. We will also be using leaves from the area to create pieces of art.
Photographs will be shared on this page and on the Class Dojo page for our parents to see our brilliant work.
